Summer has created a 30-minute documentary film at the age of 17 about her experience growing up with a cochlear implant and being in "two worlds". Summer graduated from Gallaudet University with a self-directed "Psychology and the Expressive Arts" BA degree and worked for a year as a college recruiter. After getting her MA, she hopes to teach Deaf Studies and continue creating documentary films.
